Bill was an excellent engineer and a friend of mine. We worked together at Nexus & Lifetime studios. I think of him often and hope he is in a better place with a real budget and a place to ride the bike. Its difficult to believe he is gone when I walk in the studios in Astoria. He is sorely missed.

I had not seen Billy for many years, but knew him at Tulchin Studios. He passed too soon, as did his brother Charlie, who bought my '66 Mustang convertible. My prayers and sympathies are with the Guthrie family, and all those who feel the pain of Billy's passing. May God comfort you.

I simply can't believe what I'm reading so late after things have happenned,I'm in shock...
I moved to Sweden 8 years ago.
I know the same Billy everyone here did,for at least 5 years which includes my free-lance days in engineering at the studios.
When I called him on the radio,he appeared with a smile and words of encouragement,a roadmap, and a good dose of history as to why it was the way it was! Quite frankly,I wouldn't have lasted too many days without him considering I was in trasition from directing, back to the trenches.
Frankly,I'm always amaised and dissapointed by how God takes away those that sustain us spiritally and leave us with folks that provide the most pain.
Billy, you ride the the most wonderful hog ever now!
Rest in peace,my precious brother!
Then get up and ride like only you can!!!
I apoligise for the spelling,I speak Swedish all the time now...
Regards to all.
My highest regards to the family that let him leave the house and care for us each day.
You are an inspiration in my daily life,to be sure Billy, you would just love the HD roll-out in Skandinavia, dude!

To Mary, Jen and Jude, I know Bill was your savior Mary, but apparently God needed him do fix something somewhere else. I know the loss all of you feel. And I am truly sorry for that. If ever you need anything I’m there for you.
To Mr. & Mrs. Guthrie, Margie, John & Michael.
Thank you for raising and influencing Bill so that he became what he was. His quirky and benevolent way, tied in with his anti-establishment and anti-anything ‘mainstream’ ‘tude’ clearly came from you folks. His love and compassion is unquestionably a growth from his family roots. And a lot of that rubbed off on his friends. Thank you for raising us as well. I detest the pain you feel.
Bill, you were my brother in so many ways it is hard to find that defining moment to sum up a thirty-five year friendship. I’ve gained a copious amount of who I am, because of you. And there aren’t too many folks on the planet who have had an opportunity to witness a Bill ‘moment’. I am honored to be one of those folks
‘Peace, Love, and anything electric’ was a phrase you came up with in the 70’s and lives with me through out my life. There are so many memories. Farewell to thee my brother, rest in peace, and may God bless you with eternal peace.

Mary, I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I truly enjoyed working with him at Lifetime and the friendship that extended beyond "the basement".
Though we've meet only briefly at the beach I feel as if I know you, Jude and Jill well by the tales he told. As I am sure you already know you were well loved.
I will cherish my memories of Bill and his Grandmother's recipes for German Chocolate Cake for years to come!
In Deepest Sympathy,

I'm afraid at times like this words unfortunately just seem to fail me. It is hard to express the sense of loss and sadness I feel. I'm saddened by a life cut short in it's prime, I'm saddened for Mary because I know how much she loved and depended on Bill and I am sad for the rest of the family and their loss. I'm going to try and focus on the Bill I knew. His grit, his work ethic, his sense of humor, and his overall vitality. In all the time he was sick I never heard him complain, there was never even a hint of self-pity his courage and dignity are not just to be admired, but emulated. It was too soon Bill, I will miss you very much.

Bill, I will always remember our morning talks in Astoria. Educational, enlightening and always humorous. The mornings you worked always started with " You break anything...? I knew you had confidence in me, but my confidence rested in knowing you'd fix anything I broke anyway. Lifetime's loss is Heaven's gain. Please tell Doug hello for me.
My sincerest condolences to your family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for 10 years at Lifetime. The level of excellence that he brought to his work inspired the phrase "Build it to Bill Spec". He will be missed by all those who knew him. My heart goes out to his family.
